Get up and get moving! The Circle offers a number of fitness classes to accommodate older adults. We are constantly devoted to helping our members stay happy and healthy. See below for times and descriptions of the various fitness classes we offer.

Sit and Be Fit

A light workout, designed for older adults who may be less mobile. This class involves a combination of light weight exercises and callisthenics.

  • Wednesdays at 10:45am  to 11:30am
  • Drop in fee: $2.00

NEW!!  Stretch Flex & Strengthen Fitness Class

Stretch Flex & Strengthen Spring 2019

Join us at The Golden Circle for our exciting NEW exercise class!  This one hour workout is designed to get your body toned, help with balance, as well as improve mobility and core strength.  Whether sitting or standing, this class is sure to challenge you.
Two different classes to choose from:

Move & Groove 50+ Fitness at the Golden Circle

NOTE:  Program change, beginning Tuesday, January 22, 2019 this will be a Tuesday MORNING Class.

Work on you cardio, balance & strength and meet new people at the same time. Being active helps with your overall health and well-being.

  • Tuesday mornings, 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM

  • Drop in fee:  $2.00 OR you can register for the session, Minimum of 12 registered for class to run

Dancercise

Join us for a fun dance exercise class. This is a volunteer-run class, with a Golden Circle member who leads the class in a regular routine, to taped music.

  • Most Thursday mornings from 10:30am – 11:30am.
  • Drop in fee: $1.00

The Hardy Walkers

Walk each Wednesday year round. They  meet at the Golden Circle at 1:00PM.

  • Come for exercise, come to socialize!
  • Relieve stress, and get healthy!
  • Walking usually takes place on the walking trails.
  • Walkers will sometimes stop for a quick refreshment, so bring some pocket change for a hot beverage, or snack, or feel free to bring along your own, along with a water bottle.

Bocce Ball

Tuesdays 10am – 11am from May – September, weather permitting.  $2.00 Drop-in fee   NOTE:  Bocce Ball starts again for spring on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM.  Everyone is welcome, weather permitting!!   FINAL day for Bocce Ball will be Tuesday, September 24, 2019, weather permitting. 

Zumba Gold Fitness Class

Zumba Gold takes the popular Latin-dance inspired workout of Zumba and makes it accessible for seniors, beginners or others needing modifications in their exercise routine. Zumba Gold builds cardiovascular health by challenging the heart and working the muscles of the hips, legs and arms with dance moves.

  • Please welcome the new instructor Karin Hamon, Certified Zumba Fitness Instructor with experience in Latin Dance, Salsa and Merengue.
  • No drop ins, adults only please
    Cost is $30 for members or $60 for non-members for Winter 2019 classes.
  • REGISTRATION begins Tuesday, March 26, 2019

Yoga

Senior friendly, warm atmosphere and knowledgeable instructors offer a workout with gentle stretching you will enjoy.  Maximum of 25 participants per session.  Pre-registration required, NO DROP INS PLEASE.

  • 6:30pm – 7:15pm  (Feel free to stay until 7:30PM to get exposure and experience in the Tai Chi set in the Intermediate class, you can watch the advanced students)

Intermediate Tai Chi

  • Monday evenings
  • April 1, 2019 – June 24, 2019 (No Class April 22, May 20, 2019)
  • 6:55pm – 7:55pm (Feel free to come early, at 6:30PM, to get extra practice with the beginner students)
