Volunteer Services
Purpose:
To assist retired and semi-retired individuals to remain as independent as
possible in the home of their choice with services provided by volunteers.
Who is Eligible?
All volunteer services are available to outreach clients based on availability.

Supportive Transportation
Volunteers provide transportation to medical appointment. There is a $5.00 fee
paid to the volunteers to cover fuel costs. All parking costs are the
responsibility of the client. Appointments must be booked thru the Outreach
Department at least 3 days in advance.
Friendly Visiting:
Volunteers will come to the client home to spend time one on one. Visiting,
going for walks, and reading are the most common types of activities. go to top

Grocery Delivery
The Downtown Co-op calls the client on Wednesdays and takes their grocery order.
Friday mornings, volunteers pick up groceries from the Co-op and deliver them to
the clients. Volunteers pick up a cheque from the clients which are taken back
to the Co-op. Clients pay the volunteer $5.00 to cover fuel costs.
Senior Lunch Express:
Every Wednesday, volunteers provide transportation to the Golden Circle for a
hot nutritious lunch. To
register, call the Golden Circle by Tuesday.
